Stacie & Derrick | Winter Engagement | Cashton, WI

Seriously, Stacie & Derrick could not be any more adorable..... I mean c'mon guys!  It's freezing cold out the day of their session and it doesn't even phase 'em.  Derrick was my childhood neighbor so I have known him FOREVER, and I am lucky to have met and become friends with his gorgeous wife to be, Stacie.  I'm so fortunate to do what I do, and be able to make lasting memories for my amazing friends.   I'm SO looking forward to your wedding in August, with them its bound to be a good time!  Until then guys!  xoxo, g

Kayla & Ryan's Winter Engagement Session

There always seems to be added anxiety for me when it comes to meeting couples for the first time.  I often wonder how we will get along?  How will the couple interact in front of the camera?  Will they trust my vision?  After multiple email conversations with this couple, and one attached with an adorable photo of the two to put a face to their names, I can say that I felt like I knew these two before we even met.  I love nothing more than spontaneous couples, willing to go out in frigid winter temps to make some memorable moments.  These two scoped out their session site the day before, knowing that it was going to be COLD; so what do they do?  Set up a fishing hut with a propane heater on the spot to warm up in between locations and outfit changes.  This post may be a long one, but once you see how incredibly adorable these two are together you'll understand why.  I couldn't be more excited to have met and get to work with such a wonderful couple and I look forward to their wedding come October.  Enjoy the preview.  xoxo, g

reflection, inspiration & growth

twenty fourteen will be my best year yet.  I can feel it already.  it won't be easy, but that will mean growth.  reflecting on the past year I've seen it and this coming year will challenge me more yet.  I've realized I'm a naturalist in terms of my photography.  my heart is shooting outdoors.  capturing genuine moments.  no staging, no posing.  just true emotion.  no props, no set-lists.  just candid, natural, REAL moments.  this is where my heart is, this is my style.  this is what inspires me to be better.

there is no couple better to begin this year with than my dear friend and her husband.  more couples should make the time to have moments like this together.  forget everything else.  enjoy.  xoxo, g
